More than half of days in November were at or above 70 degrees Colder air is expected here by Christmas Day Whatever adjectives you use for 2020, the list should also include warm  and wet.   And expected colder weather on Christmas Day could change any precipitation to snow. A stormy November and thus-far December have pushed the state to record-setting precipitation, according to the State Climate Office of North Carolina. Last month was also the third warmest November in 126 years. Wilmington’s National Weather Service is monitoring these same trends. “Despite no official station in our area reaching 100 degrees yet this summer, we re still running significantly above normal on temperatures,” said Matt Scalora, lead forecaster in Wilmington. “With the exception of Myrtle Beach, all sites are well above normal on rainfall, too.”
